Learnful is a specialised school readiness program in Brisbane, based in Coorparoo, designed to help children aged 3-5 confidently transition from Kindy to Prep.
Our thoughtfully designed 2-hour weekly sessions combine the structure and routines of a Prep classroom with the warmth of a nurturing, play-based, environment.
Classes are intentionally kept small (maximum of 8 children) and are designed and taught by highly experienced, bachelor qualified Prep teachers, ensuring every child receives personalised support as they build the confidence, independence and foundational skills needed to thrive at school.

Is my child ready for Prep?
Many parents wonder whether their child is truly ready to start school. While every child develops at their own pace, there are some key skills that help children transition confidently into a Prep classroom.
At Learnful, we intentionally help children practise the everyday classroom skills that truly matter when starting Prep, including:
• confidently separating from parents
• following teacher instructions
• sitting and listening during mat time
• joining structured activities and mini lessons
• transitioning between activities and lining up to go outside
• packing and managing their belongings
• opening lunchboxes and drink bottles
• independent toileting and hygiene
• regulating emotions and interacting positively with peers
These are the real skills Prep teachers say make the biggest difference when children start school.
Alongside these essential Prep readiness skills, we also explicitly teach foundational literacy, numeracy, language and social-emotional skills to help children feel confident and prepared for the Prep Australian Curriculum.
Our Programs
Our school readiness programs support children from age 3 until they start Prep.
Our Busy Bees program (3–4 years) introduces early learning through a balance of structured activities, play-based exploration and classroom routines.
Our Learnful Learners program (4&5 years) builds on these foundations with more structured learning experiences that develop confidence, independence and the key skills needed for a smooth transition to Prep, aligned with the Australian Curriculum.

Meet our founder & lead teacher
Hi, my name is Nikki & I'm so excited to have you here!
I'm a mum of two and a bachelor-qualified primary school teacher with over 18 years of classroom experience. While teaching Prep for many years, it broke my heart to see so many children struggle with the transition from Kindy to school. Additionally, after becoming a mum to two little ones of my own (now both under 5), I felt a strong drive to give them — and others — the very best start to their learning journey.
That’s why I created Learnful — to offer the kind of meaningful, well-balanced school preparation I wished existed for my former Preppies, and now for my own children too. I’m so proud to be able to share it with other families, and to support little learners during such a special and important stage of life.
