About Learnful
Our goal at Learnful School Readiness is to spark a curiosity and love of learning in your 3-year-old, and empower your 4 or 5-year-old to feel confident walking into their Prep classroom. We are more than just an early learning class - we provide a specialised, Prep-like, school readiness experience designed to give your child the best possible start to school. Led by highly accomplished and experienced former Prep teachers, our program has been thoughtfully crafted to bridge the gap between Kindy and Prep in a way that traditional early learning settings simply don't.
What makes Learnful unique is our blend of structured, school-like routines with the warmth of a play-based, nurturing environment. Each week, children engage in purposeful activities that develop their social & emotional, foundational literacy & numeracy, cognitive, language & communication, resilience, independence, self-help, and fine & gross motor skills - this is the toolkit of skills that enables children to manage school life and be prepared to learn.
Our Prep-like classroom, routines & procedures also give children their very first insight into life at Prep in a gentle and nurturing way, so it isn't such a shock when they first arrive to school. This bridges the gap between Kindy and Prep, allowing children to walk through their Prep classroom door with excitement and confidence!
Another distinguishing difference to other programs available is our small class sizes - with a maximum of 8 children per class, each child receives the personalised attention, care, and support they need to build confidence, independence, and key foundational skills.

Meet Nikki
Our founder and lead teacher
Hi, I’m Nikki — a mum of two and a bachelor qualified school teacher with over 18 years of classroom experience in both primary and secondary settings. I’ve been incredibly fortunate to work in a variety of schools across QLD and NSW, including some of Brisbane’s most respected and high-performing schools. Along the way, I’ve held lead teacher roles and supported other educators through mentoring and professional development. These experiences have shaped my teaching approach and deepened my passion for helping young learners thrive — especially in those early, formative years.
After many years teaching Prep, and now with two young children of my own (both under 5), I felt an even stronger drive to ensure I could give them — and others — the very best start to their learning journey. Over time, I’ve seen the expectations of Prep continue to evolve, while traditional early learning settings have largely remained the same. Prep now involves more structure, longer periods of focus, and greater demands on children’s independence and emotional regulation.
While open-ended, play-based learning in Kindy is absolutely essential for our little ones in these early years, it’s simply not enough on its own now to prepare children for the realities of school life. There is a growing need for something in between — a gentle, purposeful bridge between the playfulness of Kindy and the structure of Prep — and that’s exactly what Learnful provides. Our specialised weekly school readiness lessons compliment your child's Kindy experience to best prepare them for school.
